I teach pole dancing sometimes as a side job. I have been working out the information for the upcoming events. Many things are being taken into considerations. Some of them were a big surprise to me.
1) This was not one of surprise at all. I have less than 55 days until my wedding. My wedding that is being held in Disney World. So yeah being a wedding planner I'm slightly frantic.
2) I graduate in less than 40 days! Omg I didn't realize that at all. I have bought my class ring and cap and gown but I hadn't dreamed I was this close to graduation.
3) Christmas? Well it's in 49 days.... My stomach dropped. 500 things have to be done along side my wedding and Christmas to get things accomplished.
4) We have some members that want to use pole dancing as a work out for post pregnancy. Most of them are about to pop.
5) I am already frazzled and I am running out of time.
I am deciding to wait until January because there are many things going on. This way more people will be able to attend and participate in our classes. We even have internet class members that will be watching us on the internet.
However, I am going to be discussing some hints, tips, and information below about what to do in the meantime until class starts.
Yoga!!! I cannot stress this enough. You joints, muscles, and strength will thank you. You use your ankles, knees, wrists, hands and feet so much.
Get enough nutrients. You need to get enough calcium, and protein. I do not teach to people who do not bring sports drink and water. I say this because once you step foot in there you do not stop moving. I have a rule if you sit down once you sit down from then on. All drinks must have tops on them.
Get over yourself. I get tired of spending the first three classes with shy students. Yes we have advance dancers. They are creating new moves for you one day. And we don't care what you look like. But be advise that my husband and other husbands will be watching as well as younger children. 90% of people I now teach have kids and husbands.
Wear clothing that appriopate. Like I said we have husbands and kids and want you to treat them with respect. We don't want to see all you have. We use butt glue and we expect you to as well. We do not provide this for you.
I no longer allow yoga pants on my pants. A friend found the perfect shorts this morning for me. Perfect shorts. and I allow leotards as long as there are no rhinestones or metal on them. Same for tops. If your bra top has exposed you best be finding a cover that is flexible with you.
I only allow advanced users to use shoes to practice in. NEVER beginners. Beginners clash and fall too much and these poles are new and I want as less scratches and scraps on them as possible.
Beginners you will not start learning routines for a while. Get that thought of your system for a while. I teach you the basics. I do swap up with my sister Bre at the end to teach the others the advanced moves I have created and can perform well.
Beginners I am requiring you that wear your hair up because hair down causes to many accidents until you have the basics down.
New rule cell phones are mine until the second part of class. They get locked up in a filing cabinet draw. (Trust me putting your phone on vibrate and being put in that draw it will be heard if it's an emergency.) After that is when you can leave, practice on your own, etc. But the phone stays on vibrate even then.
The advance dancers pick out the music. It's normally a good mix of things. If you don't like a song well it only lasts up to 3-4 minutes.
These are all I have for now. If I have more I'll let everyone know. I will continue to prepare for classes along with my sisters.
